With a shortage of nursing intructors, there are long waits at traditional schools to get in, and the nursing shortage continues to grow. More and more students are turning to nontraditional programs which don't qualify for employer assistance or scholarships. Even those in traditional programs may drop out because of finances, leaving empty spaces in programs with no way to fill them after classes have started.
